Some History
Realty Times debuted in 1997 as an on-line news service for the Real Estate industry called Agent News. As the service grew in popularity, it was redeveloped as a consumer news service called Real Times in a strategic partnership with RealSelect, operator of Realtor.com and Homebuilder.com. Agent News remained a key industry section. In 1998, Jody Lane and his partners gained full ownership and changed the name to Realty Times.
Realty Times quickly grew to become the most visited real estate news web site. In 2000, Realty Times was voted “Best Real Estate News and Advice” by Yahoo! Internet Life. In June 2003’s issue of Money Magazine, Realty Times was voted “Best of the Web” and it remains the newsfeed of choice for major industry sites. Some of Realty Times’ notable partners include REALTOR.com, RE/MAX, Homestore.com, Yahoo! Real Estate, Google, AOL, HomeSeekers.com, Homes.com, Advanced Access, Best Image, and Myers Internet.
