Independence Day - July 4, 2018
Jetties beach is the best place in Nantucket to view fireworks and celebrate the Independence Day. Leading up to the fireworks at night, there are many patriotic activities to take part in throughout the day. A fun, annual event is the 4th of July parade through Main St. This is good wet water fighting family fun!

Nantucket Comedy Festival - July 11-14, 2018
The Nantucket Comedy Festival is a non-profit organization supporting the Stand Up & Learn kids and teens educational program. Boston Pop's Concert at Jetties Beach - August 11, 2018 6:30pm-9pm
The Pops on Nantucket is an August tradition, fine food, outstanding music, the gorgeous setting of an August evening on Jetties Beach. This event directly benefits Nantucket Cottage Hospital. There is a celebrity host and the alluring sounds of America's orchestra, the Boston Pops.

Nantucket Race Week - August 11-19, 2018
Nantucket Race Week is eight days of regattas, awards ceremonies, and parties. Race Week is hosted by Nantucket Yacht Club and Great Harbor Yacht Club to benefit Nantucket Community Sailing, and is the primary fund-raising event of the year for Nantucket Community Sailing. Nantucket Race Week is proud to be a Clean Regatta as certified by Sailors for the Sea.

Opera House Cup - August 19, 2018
The Opera House Cup Regatta is a cherished tradition, held on the third Sunday of August on Nantucket. The 43rd Annual Opera House Cup Regatta will be Sunday, August 21, 2011. The Opera House Cup Regatta was the first all-wooden, single-hulled classic boat regatta on the East Coast, and it attracts some of the finest sailboats in the country. The Opera House Cup Regatta is a Clean Regatta as certified by Sailors for the Sea.

This event starts Fall on Nantucket. Visitors to the Festival grounds may watch the berries being harvested, learn about the history of cranberry farming on Nantucket, watch farming exhibitions, and participate in all things cranberry.

Annual Halloween Parade - October 31, 2018
The annual Halloween parade up Main Street and down Centre takes place in the early evening, on Halloween day. Costumes and candy galore are the hallmark of this event as parents and children alike play dress up, and local businesses distribute masses of candy.


NHA Festival of Wreaths - November 21-25, 2018
This community event features an array of wreaths beautifully crafted by local businesses, non-profits, schools, and organizations that are displayed during the week of Thanksgiving. The preview party provides attendees with the first opportunity to view this year's designs and bid on their favorites.


Thanksgiving & annual Cold Turkey Plunge - November 22, 2018
This annual Atheneum fundraiser features hundreds of spectators and swimmers who brave the cold waters at Children's Beach on Thanksgiving morning to benefit the Weezie Library for Children.


Annual Tree Lighting & Community Caroling - November 23, 2018
The community gathers at the top of Main Street to watch over 100 Christmas trees come alive with color and light and to enjoy some yuletide caroling.


44th Annual Christmas Stroll Weekend - November 30- December 2, 2018
New England's finest traditions come alive for the Annual Christmas Stroll Weekend. The Stroll is a community holiday celebration attracting visitors from around the world. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive to the island via a Coast Guard vessel and ride up Main Street in a horse-drawn carriage accompanied by the Town Crier. Carolers in Victorian costumes, bell ringers, student choirs and other musicians perform on the Main Street stage as well as stroll through town performing.


NHA Festival of Trees - December 1-31, 2018
The Festival of Trees is the NHA's highly anticipated holiday tradition that begins during Nantucket's Stroll weekend and transforms the Whaling Museum into a festive winter wonderland for the entire month of December. This event features community-crafted trees designed by local merchants, nonprofit organizations, artists and children.
