Annual Sandcastle & Sculpture Day (Jetties Beach) - August 19, 2017
Awards are based on CREATIVITY, CONCEPT and DESIGN. Judges are island professional artists, visiting artists and educators, lecturers, staff and faculty from Nantucket Island School of Design and the Arts. There is also a PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD! Cast your People's Choice.

Tim Russert Summer Groove (Boys & Girls Club) - August 19, 2017
Annual event under the tent featuring a fun evening of food, drinks and dancing to support and raise funds for the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club.

Walk Now for Autism Speaks (Jetties Beach) - August 19, 2017
Annual Walk that gives Nantucket residents and visitors the opportunity to raise money and awareness to help change the future for all those who struggle with autism.

Opera House Cup - August 20, 2017
The Opera House Cup Regatta is a cherished tradition, held on the third Sunday of August on Nantucket. The 43rd Annual Opera House Cup Regatta will be Sunday, August 21, 2011. The Opera House Cup Regatta was the first all-wooden, single-hulled classic boat regatta on the East Coast, and it attracts some of the finest sailboats in the country. The Opera House Cup Regatta is a Clean Regatta as certified by Sailors for the Sea.

This event starts Fall on Nantucket. Visitors to the Festival grounds may watch the berries being harvested, learn about the history of cranberry farming on Nantucket, watch farming exhibitions, and participate in all things cranberry.

Annual Halloween Parade - October 31, 2017
The annual Halloween parade up Main Street and down Centre takes place in the early evening, on Halloween day. Costumes and candy galore are the hallmark of this event as parents and children alike play dress up, and local businesses distribute masses of candy.

Festival of Wreaths Preview Party - November 22, 2017
This community event features an array of wreaths beautifully crafted by local businesses, non-profits, schools, and organizations that are displayed during the week of Thanksgiving. The preview party provides attendees with the first opportunity to view this year's designs and bid on their favorites.

Thanksgiving - annual Turkey Plunge - November 23, 2017
This annual Atheneum fundraiser features hundreds of spectators and swimmers who brave the cold waters at Children’s Beach on Thanksgiving morning to benefit the Weezie Library for Children.

Annual Tree Lighting & Community Caroling - November 24, 2017
The community gathers at the top of Main Street to watch over 100 Christmas trees come alive with color and light and to enjoy some yuletide caroling.

43rd Annual Christmas Stroll - December 1-3, 2017
New England's finest traditions come alive for the Annual Christmas Stroll Weekend. The Stroll is a community holiday celebration attracting visitors from around the world. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive to the island via a Coast Guard vessel and ride up Main Street in a horse-drawn carriage accompanied by the Town Crier. Carolers in Victorian costumes, bell ringers, student choirs and other musicians perform on the Main Street stage as well as stroll through town performing.

NHA Festival of Trees Preview Party - December 1, 2017
The Festival of Trees is the NHA's highly anticipated holiday tradition that begins during Nantucket's Stroll weekend and transforms the Whaling Museum into a festive winter wonderland for the entire month of December. This event features community-crafted trees designed by local merchants, nonprofit organizations, artists and children.
