Did you know that Nantucket Island is over 40% conservation land?
Every purchase of a parcel of land and/or a house on ACK requires the buyer to pay 2% of the purchase price to the Nantucket Land Bank. The Land Bank in turn buys up vacant land and “gives the land back” to the island to preserve as open space. Next time you are on island make sure to make the most of this beautiful gift. The town has done a wonderful job creating many hidden walking trails for all to enjoy. Many of the walks offer amazing vistas and views of the ocean, the harbor, and the moors. |

With the price of land sky-rocketing on island, many people consider sub-dividing their property to either sell, or to give to their children. Depending on the zoning in your neighborhood you may have the option. In order to determine if your property is sub-dividable you have to go before the Planning Board of Nantucket.
