Meals on Wheels is eager for more volunteers. It is easy to sign up for limited periods of time. If you plan on being island for a few weeks this summer with some free time this is a great way to give back to the elderly community on island. |

Art Classes in Wauwinet
Nantucket Island School of Design and the Arts has released the 2008 seasonal calendar of workshops, programs and classes. Located in beautiful Wauwinwet, the school offers something for all ages from quilt making to silk painting. Many of the workshops last for 2 days, and fit in conveniently with house rental turnover days.

Great Harbor DEP Approval Update
The new yacht club is close to reaching a milestone. The state of MA, with a long list of special conditions, is issuing the club a chapter 91 license. Once the appeal period is over, and as soon as Gov. Patrick has signed off they will be a big step closer to reaching their final approvals. The Army Corps of Engineers and appeals from the Conservation Commission are next, and then we all hope to have some great competition between Nantucket Yacht Club and Great Harbor. Memberships are still available for sale. |
