| REAL ESTATE BUZZ |
Curb Appeal
This phrase is thrown around a lot in the context of real estate-but is it really important? Sellers are often so focused on staging the interiors, that they neglect the exteriors. In a highly competitive sales market, the positive impact from flowering shrubs & trees, perennials and annuals, can be substantial. Most showings are scheduled by buyers from photographs or drive-bys alone, so lure them to your property by putting extra effort in to the landscaping and exterior decoration-you will surely stand out from the competition and reap the rewards. Comments by Jenny Whitlock, broker and gardener extraordinaire. |

NOTES FROM PEPPER THE ELDER
Real estate. A monopsony or a monopoly? Which do you want? The answer is obvious. Sellers can't sell without Buyers. A monopoly (one seller) will always attract Buyers, and drive up prices, but a monopsony (many Sellers, but only one buyer) will lead to complacency and drive down prices. Just another way of stating the theory of supply and demand. Again, the obvious.Small islands with strict zoning, create limited supply and are, thus, a desirable real estate market. |
