Nantucket Island will be host to over 100 wineries of international acclaim with special events including celebrity chef cooking demonstrations, seminars, and an auction. First Quarter Sales Stats

During April, real estate activity has really picked up on the island. As of April 30th, there are 17 properties that have either gone to contract, or are close to going to contract. The accepted offer prices range from $430,000 to $6,650,000. The 2nd quarter statistics will certainly be higher. That said, enclosed are the stats from the 1st quarter: 27 homes sold in the 1st quarter of 2009. The average price was $1,958,000. The median price of those houses was $1,337,000. The houses sold on average at 98.57% of assessed value, and at 90% of the listed asking price. 1 piece of vacant land sold for $460,000, this was at 112% of assessed value, and 100% of asking price. So what I'm saying is that there are 'deals' out there and keep your eyes 'peeled.' No, I don't know the etymology, but I'll find out.
