| RENTAL BUZZ |
September Long Weekend Rentals
Now is the perfect time to plan a fall getaway. Autumn on Nantucket historically offers fabulous weather, and the pace of life is ideal for most guests. The rental properties are now accepting shorter stays and are renting at affordable rates. Travel is less congested. The golf courses, and the tennis courts have great availability for use. The beaches are quiet, and the water is still warm enough to swim. |

| NOTES FROM PEPPER THE ELDER |
Follow the leader...
Wowie. Zowie. Did I spell that right? Oh, ok, correctly. 4 straight
months of increase in home sales. With a 7.2 % gain in July, the
largest since they started tracking this statistic. A false start?
Perhaps. There certainly is room for scepticism; however, I have
uncovered a very interesting, for me at least, and possibly very
telling fact. Two fund managers, Warren Buffet and George Soros, with
distinctly different investing styles, hold 5 stocks in common. Two
are in the oil/energy sector, which is a sure sign these men anticipate
increased commercial activity. Two, Home Depot and Loews, are in the
building components business and the 5th Walmart is an unadulterated
home goods/consumer play. I've already said I don't want to bet
against John Paulson and now you can add Buffet and Soros to the list.
As sure as I'm sittin' on this bale of hay, these gents are betting on
real estate. How about you? |
