  What Does It Mean When...

The longest actively listed property is under agreement or when a property on Washington Street with an asking price of right under $5mm is under agreement or the total volume year to date is far beyond where the last billion dollar market was at this same time? Means we are in a strong market where buyers and sellers have reached an equilibrium and deals are happening. After 10 years, a property on York Street is under agreement, but the seller finally got realistic and the buyer saw opportunity. A gorgeous house just came on the market on Washington Street for right under $5mm and went under agreement almost right away - why not - unobstructed views of the harbor coupled with a skillfully executed build-out. Sold sales volume YTD is currently just above $525mm - 5% higher than our last billion dollar year. We are in an amazing market to sell because prices are strong, but an amazing time to buy because prices are not artificially high and purchasing power is at an all time peak.

Making it happen brings in team work which then forms camaraderie. Whether it be between a client, another broker or in most instances both; A relationship is born.   Time to take down the autographed picture of Bob Co

Our athletes performed very well at the Olympics. I wish I could say the same thing for the producers and commentators. Has there ever been anyone more inept than Bob Costa? Point well taken. Not counting politicians. It is certainly not a coincidence that the ratings were so low. But on to more pleasant subjects.

Another Labor Day. Another summer chalked up. When I see the weather reports for the Mainland, I realize just how fortunate we are. Even the winter on Nantucket is pretty darn nice, I just wish it didn't get dark so early. And now the fall with its crisp clean air and chilly nights. Nirvana, I say Mate. Well, over and out for now, and we at JPFCo. thank you for a great summer. Oh, I forgot the most important thing: The Dodgers and The Red Sox are both still in 'it.' I can dream, can't I.
