Wake up at 6am, drive to Great Point, catch some fish – hopefully stripers or false albacore, but probably blues.\u00a0 Leave around 9am and stop at Claudette’s for a breakfast sandwich and a cup of java.\u00a0 Go home, filet and marinade the fish, put your tennis gear on and hit the court at Jetties by 10am.\u00a0 Finish playing, put your suit on in the Jetties’ bath house and take a dip to rinse off.\u00a0 By noon, take a Nantucket Community Sailing sailboat for cruise.\u00a0 Around 2pm, you’re very hungry, so ride your bike to Something Natural for a delicious, whole sandwich (whole’s at SN are basically two sandwiches).\u00a0 Go home, pick up the truck and go to Cisco for a quick surf.\u00a0 Around 4pm, load up the truck, stop off at Bartlett’s Farm for a few groceries and stop at the Brewery for a (few) libation(s).\u00a0 Go home, unload and take an outdoor shower.\u00a0 Load everyone and everything up around 5pm and go to Children’s Beach to hear live music\/see a live performance.\u00a0 Around 6:30pm, drive onto the beach at 40th Pole, crank up the bbq, crack the drinks, grill the fish that was caught 12 hours ago, play, swim and watch the sunset over the water.\u00a0 Go home, drink some water and crash.\u00a0 Wake up, repeat.<\/p>\n

Not many places in the world where you can have a day like that and those days are not uncommon on Nantucket.\u00a0 Sometimes I pinch myself that I live on such an epic island – no wonder National Geographic rated Nantucket number one island in the world.<\/p>\n
