Summer is winding down, which is bitter sweet. Sad to see everyone go, but nice to not be totally frantic. The last week of August is an amazing week. Gorgeous weather, water is warm, fish are biting, everything is still open, but no traffic jams, overcrowded restaurants, etc. <\/p>\n
The sales market is still slightly behind last year, but seems to be picking up steam. As of today, about $450mm has traded. That is down from $506mm at this time last year. If the sales market is warm, the rental market for 2016 is on fire. Some rental markets for certain weeks are already sold out for next summer. Recently I showed a property with another broker who initially started the day by showing her client rentals for the following year. By the end of the day, the client had not found anything he liked, so the agent requested to see one of my sales listings. Sure enough, her client made an offer and we were able to put together a deal. Amazing, this person got fed up with the lack of rental options, so he said he would just buy instead. Gotta love it! <\/p>\n
