The amount of energy and activities going on in the summer is endless.  However, for a year-round community of 12,000, the amount of action downtown in the off season is shocking.  We have a world class music center, <a href=\"http:\/\/nantucketcommunitymusiccenter.org\/\">Nantucket Community Music Center<\/a>, a world class culinary center <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/nantucketculinary\/\">Nantucket Culinary Center<\/a>, a beautiful knitting shop that offers classes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ackflock\">Flock<\/a>, two movie theaters, one of which is as state of the art as any, <a href=\"www.nantucketdreamland.org\/\">Dreamland<\/a>, a gorgeous library that consistently has speakers, programs and classes, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nantucketatheneum.org\/\">Nantucket Atheneum<\/a>, two theater groups, <a href=\"http:\/\/theatreworkshop.com\/\">Theatre Workshop<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whiteherontheatre.org\/\">White Heron Theatre Company<\/a> and the list goes on.  We are very fortunate to have <a href=\"http:\/\/remainnantucket.org\/\">ReMain Nantucket<\/a>, which Wendy Schmidt established, to help initially fund and start so many of these organizations.  <\/p>\n<p>I feel very fortunate to be part of such an amazing community.<\/p>\n<p>Happy Holidays!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nantucket is an amazing, vibrant community.
