Daffodil Weekend marks the beginning of the season on Nantucket. Many of the stores, restaurants, inns and hotels open. Tons of visitors and summer residents come on Island for the first time since last season. The daffodils are blooming and the hedges and hydrangeas are budding. People dust off their antique cars, get them ready for the Saturday Daffodil Day Parade and hope they are firing on all cylinders, which can be very uncertain. Something that is not uncertain, though, is that the real estate market is firing on all cylinders.<\/p>\n
The first quarter of this year compared to last year saw an increase in transactions of over 15% and an increase of sales volume of about 25%. Keep in mind, last year was the third best year as measured by dollar volume in Nantucket history. <\/p>\n
