GROUND NOTES FROM DALTON
  Long Miacomet

I've always thought Miacomet was an undervalued area, but now with the brand new Miacomet Golf Clubhouse about to open, I think it is really undervalued. I imagine we'll see a similar effect to the area as Cliff saw after The Westmoor Club was built, albeit not as profound. My friend, who is a scratch golfer, said Miacomet played better than Sankaty Head Golf Club and Nantucket Golf Club this past summer, and Sankaty and Nantucket are world class courses. Time will tell, but I'm long Miacomet.

LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN WITH PEPPER II
  Offers & Scallops

As we roll into November with bushels full of bay scallops and fall closings; We at JPFCO are making it happen on land and sea. Taking a client on a scalloping trip to coatue via Great Point and 4 wheel drive. We inevitably could not stop talking about Nantucket real estate. Time to make it happen JPFCO style. He asks "what is the best deal on the market?" We reply with a property and "let's go see it after scalloping." We fill our bags full of scallops and head off to see the property. After the showing we head back to open the scallops. As we open the delicious bay scallops we discuss the property and writing up an offer. Spending time with good clients doing Nantucket activities can truly make it happen. The offer is presented and the scallops are cooked another wonderful day on ACK.

RENTAL MARKET UPDATE
  Fall in love with Nantucket

There is always something to look forward to with each new season on Nantucket. Although us islanders bid adieu to warm summer days that we yearn for all year long, we enter into an entertaining fall season that is filled with golden hours, colorful leaves, and scallops! The island is pleasantly free of traffic, while local stores and restaurants continue to keep the "open" sign on their doors.

Fall is truly is the best season on Nantucket and here are the top four reasons why:

1. Scalloping- Hailed as the tastiest scallops in the entire world, Nantucket's scalloping season begins in the fall. Starting in October, the island opens scallop season by offering something called family scalloping, a unique island tradition where anyone with a recreational shellfish license can enjoy scalloping for the month of October. On November 1st, commercial scalloping opens and ends March 31st. Happy Scalloping!

2. Cranberry Festival - Hosted by The Nantucket Conservation in October, the Cranberry Festival is a popular event for families and adults alike where the Milestone Cranberry Bog is transformed into a beautiful, bright red festival ground.

3. Halloween on Main Street- Prepare yourself for one of the biggest Main Street parades next to Daffodil Weekend! On October 31st, Hundreds of children and adults dress up with huge creativity and effort and parade up and down Main Street, collecting more candy than ever desired!

4. Turkey Plunge- 2019 marks 28 years of plunging into cold water on Turkey day! Join the hundreds of swimmers who dare to wake up and plunge into icy water at Children's Beach on Thursday, November 28, 2019. This event raises money to benefit the programs and services for the Weezie Library for Children at the Nantucket Atheneum.
