Outdoor Showers and Fires
Labor Day came and went – still here. Anyone who is still here on Nantucket is in for the treat of Fall '20 – everything is open, get into restaurants, play on golf courses, the weather is warm during the day and cool at night, the fish are biting, the surfs up – overall epic.

The market remains strong. Within a week in June, the market went from spiraling down to catapulting up. Market is on pace to beat the record year by 30-40%. There are currently $623mm pending sales marked in the MLS. There are probably close to an equal amount not marked. And, it is only September. So, $670mm closed + $623mm marked pending + $623mm unmarked pending = $1,916mm. $2bn is in strike zone…

There's No Place Like Home
There ain't no place like home, especially if you own a home on Nantucket.

We at JPFCO would like to thank the entire Nantucket community for making it happen this summer. Wow, that was awesome. It's all about teamwork in making it happen.

The other day we were doing a deal where both the buyer and seller had come to a stalemate on two items: a piece of furniture and the home inspection report, both relatively the same monetary value. The buyer would not budge on the home inspection and the seller would not budge on the piece of furniture.

Time to make it happen the JPFCO way! One broker took care of the home inspection and the other the furniture. The purchase and sale agreement was signed and we are scheduled to close. This is how we make it happen working together.

Welcome Fall
Labor Day on Nantucket ushers in an exciting transition. Serving as the final act in our summer season production, the holiday weekend provides one last opportunity to soak up all things summer on the island, and concludes with a hint of what early fall will bring. This past Labor Day weekend was one for the books - and the postcards! With weather that rivaled some of summer's best days, Nantucket lived up to it's reputation as the ultimate summertime oasis.

Crystal clear, blue skies and low humidity made enjoying the island easy. Our famous beaches played host to one last seaside romp, while town entertained visitors under careful COVID-19 restrictions masterfully. Monday saw the safe return of summer guests and residents to their more permanent locations, but as we all know, a little bit of Nantucket sand in their shoes will ensure the island always feels like home.

Of course, we couldn't conclude a summer season without thanking all of our homeowners and tenants for coming out to our little island thirty miles out to sea. Although we began this summer with many uncertainties and hesitations, it was refreshing to find everyone working together to keep Nantucket safe and just as lovely as we've always known it to be.
