A handful of houses have started doing a 24-hour turnover. This is in contrast to the 6-hour turnover. The 6-hour turnover has one tenant departing at 9am, and then the next tenant arriving at 3pm. That gives a short window to get a lot accomplished in a house in a season with limited staff.

If you are lucky enough to rent a house with a 24-hour turnover there are some nice benefits. There is a good chance you can check out late, check in early, you will probably get a house that is cleaner because the cleaners have a lot more time to address little items and more dialed in because the caretaker has time to tweak it. Also, you would probably be traveling on a day other than Saturday which is the hardest day to get the ferry tickets. The downside? These are hard to get because there aren't a ton of them, and they tend to be on the higher side of the pricing.

What an awesome summer we have had so far and it looks like we are in for a late one with all of this continued, beautiful weather!

With inventory at an all time low and demand ever-increasing, creativity is a must to keep the market moving. A property came on the market and there were two Buyers so it went into a sealed bid, final and best scenario. Of course, this leaves an opportunity for one party to be disappointed. We at team JPFCO like to see everyone win.

We worked a deal with the Seller to pre-sell new construction to the losing bidder. So now the losing bidder is really a winner as well. The Seller made out with two deals and there are not one but two more happy new homeowners on the Island. This is how we make it happen at JPFCO! No losers, just winners. Nantucket Island marks its year by the months of summer. We spend the off season crossing days off our calendars, counting hours, minutes, and seconds until the golden glow of the sweetest, warmest, busiest months of June, July, and August are upon us. It seems that this year summer came and went more quickly than ever, and now that's it's over we can only appreciate the success that it was, the wonderful clients and friends who were once again able to walk through our front doors, and enter the season of preparation and anticipation once again.

But before we turn the page entirely from one season to the next, we can't help but bask in the wonder that is September. If you haven't experienced Nantucket in this transitional month between busy season and off, summer and fall, we highly recommend it. As most locals would agree, the early weeks of fall are among the very best of the year. The beaches are less crowded, the sidewalks of town less bustling, and the days vary from the best of summer with bright blue skies and sunshine, to the early signs of fall with chilly, fogged-in mornings and crisp evenings.
