And the Beat Goes On...
And the Beat Goes On...
"Now I don't know but I was told in the heat of the sun a man died of cold" - GD

The Nantucket real estate market set another record - first time over $2bn in closed sales for a year and still have December to go! Between the historically low interest rates, the liquidity in markets and equity markets at all time highs, I see demand continuing to be voracious for the foreseeable future. The question is, will owners jump into the market and become sellers or will they be too worried that if they sell, they'll get boxed out of Nantucket. Time will tell...

What another awesome year on the Island!

We love the Land Bank and all the benefits it brings to Nantucket for now and many generations to come. Recently, we had a seller with a property abutting a piece of Land Bank land. The price was too rich for the Land Bank to acquire on its own.

Time to make it happen, JPFCO style!

We approached two other abutting property owners to see if they would be interested in financially participating in purchasing the property. The Land Bank purchase would help preserve the other two properties views and keep the land open for the public enjoyment. The other two property owners agreed to contribute.

With the Land Bank and the other two property owners, the Land Bank was able to acquire the piece of property! Happy Holidays to all, looking forward to a fantastic 2022!

Cold Turkey Plunge and the 47th Annual Christmas Stroll
You would be hard-pressed to find a better group of good sports than the JPFCO crew and we're never more aware of this than when the annual Cold Turkey Plunge comes around. It's a tradition that this year celebrated its 20th anniversary and garners participation not just all over the island, but all over the world. Even President Joe Biden has taken the chilly plunge in years past! If you're unfamiliar with the event, participants don their swimsuits and bravely ignore the late-fall water temperatures as they enjoy a group swim at Children's Beach all in the name of fundraising for the Nantucket Atheneum Weezie Library for Children.

This year, the JPFCO crew was represented by principle brokers Pepper and Dalton Frazier, agents Ed Gillum, Roy Weedon, Nathan Kaiser, and even the next generation of plungers in Dalton II and George Frazier. A huge thank you to Bill Hoenk for the great shot above, and of course to the guys for continuing the tradition!

This month also saw the return of the beloved Nantucket Christmas Stroll and what a weekend it was. After last year's cancellation, the excitement and involvement felt like it was at an all-time high, as town was bustling with guests all weekend long. It was as if Christmas elves themselves ordered up the weather, with clear skies and mild temperatures in the high 40's that made strolling around even more enjoyable.

Santa Claus coming in via Coast Guard boat, the Whaling Museum playing host to nearly 100 uniquely decorated Christmas trees, returning to some of our favorite restaurants, and supporting the local shops; it's no wonder Stroll weekend always reminds us just how special Nantucket really is. We are so lucky to call it home.

If you stopped by the office during your Stroll weekend, we thank you! It's always great to reconnect with tenants and homeowners in the off season and lends a fond reminder that summer is never that far away.

As we conclude this record-breaking year, we would like to thank you for a tremendous 2021. We wish you happy and safe holidays with loved ones and look forward to seeing you in 2022! Happy Holidays!
