What a great time of year to be on the Island. Grilling and chilling with family and friends, creating memories to last a lifetime. Our real estate market is in full swing, and we at JPFCO go the extra mile to show our clients how important they are to us. We were handling a long-term lease when our client had health issues three weeks into the eight-week lease and had to leave the Island. Obviously, super bummed but need to live so can enjoy summers to come. Every relationship matters, especially with our homeowners, so Team JPFCO went to work, subletting the available five weeks and returning all the funds to the tenant who had to leave. In subletting the property, we also tacked on an additional 20% for our homeowner. Always making it happen, no job is too big or small, we tackle it all. Nantucket's Second Season

Summer may be Nantucket's most famous season, but those who know the island well will tell you there is something particularly special about September and October. As the pace begins to slow, the island settles into a quieter rhythm, the beaches become wonderfully uncrowded, and there's a little more room to linger, whether you're walking into town for coffee, heading out for a bike ride, or spending an afternoon by the water.

September often feels like summer's best-kept secret. Warm days and comfortable evenings can stretch well beyond Labor Day, while the island's busiest weeks are behind us. Restaurants and shops are still open, boats still come and go from the harbor, and the island keeps a lively pace, just with fewer crowds.

By October, Nantucket takes on an entirely different kind of beauty. Crisp mornings, changing foliage, quiet beaches, and golden autumn light make it a wonderful time for long walks and scenic drives, and sweaters and fireplaces bring a coziness that's hard to find during the height of summer. Fall also brings some favorite island traditions and events, giving visitors plenty of reasons to plan a weekend or stay a little longer, and without the bustle of July and August, it can be one of the best times of year to simply enjoy Nantucket itself.

So if you've always thought of Nantucket as a summer-only destination, consider extending the season. September and October offer the same island you love, just at a slower pace. And while these fall months make summer 2027 feel far away, it's never too early to start planning.
