Rebecca M Becker

Born and raised in Woodbridge, Connecticut where she attended Beecher Road School and Amity Regional High School. A summa cum laude graduate from Castleton College of Vermont where Rebecca earned a bachelors degree in Journalism and Art History - with a minor in children's literature and was the editor and chef of the college newspaper, The Spartan, for two years. Rebecca came to Nantucket in 2004 and immediately immersed herself working with local publications and the well-known late interior decorator - Barbara Morgan of Cabbage Rose Interiors. She later launched a baby & beach gear rental company in 2008 - which quickly grew and later included a thriving children's retail shop. While building her business, Rebecca was one of the founding members of the local group for Nantucket's women in business - Petticoat Row. It stood active and strong up until Covid hit - there are plans of a relaunch. After welcoming her native daughter, Marin Ruth, in 2012 she transitioned her career into real estate. Although, Rebecca has been part of the J Pepper Frazier Company since 2010. An extremely active member of the island community and many local non-profits - she sits on the Nantucket Theatre Workshop council, is on the executive board of The Nantucket Soccer Club and is actively involved in the Maria Mitchell Stargazer Gala, Dreamland Theatre, Nantucket Lacrosse Club and Nantucket Shellfish Association. Rebecca is a co-chair of the 2024 Scallopers Ball - the largest fundraiser for the Nantucket Shellfish Association. She's also very involved at her daughter's local private school - The Nantucket New School - where her daughter is a rising sixth grader. In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys playing tennis, sailing with Nantucket Community Sailing, skiing throughout Vermont (specifically Okemo where she grew-up skiing and where her daughter is now an active skier on the mountain), visiting Kauai, gardening and writing. Most importantly, Rebecca loves all the memorable and magical stories that make-up her career - matching so many wonderful people to their Nantucket homes - being part of so many dreams & plans has been the most fulfilling part of her business.
