Pound Wise, Penny Foolish

When you are selling your house, I am a big believer in having the landscaping look the best it can. It is the first part of the property a potential buyer sees, so it gives the first impression. As the saying goes, first impression is your best impression. A buyer will think that if the landscaping is dialed in, the house is probably going to be dialed in. Also, having great landscaping gives you leverage for negotiations. Sets the tone that you have carrying power and you are not desperate to sell. Besides landscaping, there are small improvements that can tremendously help the curb appeal of the house. For instance, shutters and/or window boxes. For short money, you can make your house look much better and probably get a better price in a shorter amount of time. So, better to be pound wise and penny foolish than penny wise and pound foolish.
