Nantucket is an amazing, vibrant community. The amount of energy and activities going on in the summer is endless. However, for a year-round community of 12,000, the amount of action downtown in the off season is shocking. We have a world class music center, Nantucket Community Music Center, a world class culinary center Nantucket Culinary Center, a beautiful knitting shop that offers classes Flock, two movie theaters, one of which is as state of the art as any, Dreamland, a gorgeous library that consistently has speakers, programs and classes, Nantucket Atheneum, two theater groups, Theatre Workshop and White Heron Theatre Company and the list goes on. We are very fortunate to have ReMain Nantucket, which Wendy Schmidt established, to help initially fund and start so many of these organizations.
I feel very fortunate to be part of such an amazing community.
