Although Labor Day has come and gone, summer on Nantucket continues. September is an amazing month-the weather is gorgeous, the water is still warm, the fish are back and biting, the restaurants are open and easy to get into, you can play a round of golf in 3 hours (congrats to Chris Kling for getting a hole in one on Tuesday!) and the summer real estate deals are closing:-) But, the festivities continue well past September. October we have the opening of scallop season and Columbus Day. November we have the Turkey Plunge and Thanksgiving, which has been getting more and more popular. December we have the Christmas Stroll, the holidays and now Visitor Services is planning a three day New Year’s celebration which will conclude with a New Year’s ball at the Nantucket Hotel. January through March is when everyone takes a breather and gets recharged for the next season because Daffodil Day is right around the corner and then the festivities start again.
